Good morning everyone,

I hope that you all had a fantastic summer and we are excited to see everyone return for the fall semester. Below is some important information that we would like to share with all of you:

Ø  Facility Hours of Operation:

·         Please visit the following link for information regarding facility hours of operation: http://recreation.gocrimson.com/recreation/hours

Ø  Extended Hours at Blodgett Pool:

·         We are excited to announce that we are offering extended pool time from 5:30am-6:30am Monday-Friday at Blodgett! This will be on a trial basis for the month of September, and if the time is popular enough, we will continue to offer it.  What better way to start off the day than with a swim?!

Ø  Membership Information:

·         Memberships for the Fall Semester and Academic Year are now on sale. Fall Semester memberships expire January 15, 2015, and Academic Year Memberships expire May 31, 2015. All Harvard Affiliates except for alumni and those who receive free memberships can purchase their membership and any add-ons on the recreation website. All students receive free group fitness class access, but have to either go online or to the membership office in the MAC in order to get the class pass added to their HUID.

·         Just as a reminder all membership cards are non-transferable.

Ø  Fitness Highlights:

·         Tabata Bootcamp is back by popular demand! Based on the most current
research in fitness, this revolutionary 8-week program combines bootcamp
fitness with the hottest trend to hit the scene: High Intensity
Interval Training. You can get your workout done
in half the time and boost your metabolism to keep burning calories for
hours after your workout is over.
Registration begins Friday 8/29, and the first class is 9/9. Registration is limited to 12 participants.

·         Equipment Orientations and Fitness Assessments:
Want to utilize the fitness equipment at the MAC and/or Hemenway,
but don’t want to look lost? Learn your way around the spaces and how
to use the basic machines safely and properly in this 45-minute
Equipment Orientation session with a certified
personal trainer. We also offer Fitness Assessments in small groups
where a certified personal trainer will assess your weight, body
composition, Body Mass Index (BMI), upper body strength, core endurance
and flexibility. You’ll see how you compare to
national averages, and the trainer will make recommendations for the
areas in which you could improve. Check out our schedule of free Fitness Assessments and Equipment Orientations at: http://recreation.gocrimson.com/fitness/fitteryou

Thanks and have a great day!
