The Policy and Standards Division of the Library of Congress has received a proposal for a
new Kazakh (in Arabic Script) ALA-LC romanization table from the University of Washington.
The author notes that although "a majority of current Kazakh publications are in
Cyrillic [script], a number of titles are issued in China using a modified Arabic script.
Some of these titles are acquired by libraries, and the lack of an approved romanization
table has led to problems."

romanizations of a text with Arabic and Cyrillic originals.
