Sorry for just realizing I could post this here, but maybe someone in New
York will have free time tomorrow afternoon -- I wish I could make this!
Change the Subject: Documentary Screening and Town Hall
"A documentary about libraries, labels, and activism," *Change the
Subject* (2019)
is a film that follows a group of Dartmouth students whose singular effort
at confronting anti-immigrant sentiment in their library catalog took them
all the way from Baker-Berry Library to the halls of Congress. *Change the
Subject* shows how an instance of campus activism entered the national
spotlight, and how a Library of Congress subject heading became a
flashpoint in the immigration debate on Capitol Hill.
This special event is hosted by the Columbia University Libraries.
Organizing committee: Nicky Agate, Alex Gil, Matt Haugen, Sócrates Silva,
and Melanie Wacker
