Dear CoHSL members,
The Modern Greek Studies Association Symposium is scheduled for October
18-20, 2007 and will take place at Yale University
http://www.yale.edu/macmillan/hsp/MGSA20.html. The MGSA Library
Committee--which includes all CoHSL members who are MGSA members--will
meet on Friday morning, from 9:00-12:00 in classroom 38 of the Beinecke
Library. The focus of the meeting will be the Modern Greek Resources
Project.
I am also pleased to announce that Maria Georgopoulou has organized a
panel which is scheduled to take place at lunch time on Friday (after
our committee meeting) October 19th. The goal of the panel is to provide
Modern Greek Studies faculty and students information on the progress
that Greek libraries, archives and research institutions have made in
the digital realm. Hopefully this panel will initiate a productive
discussion from the practitioners' side, which can help us to further
identify their resource needs as the Project moves forward.
I hope that you are planning to join us in October. We are meeting early
on in the conference, which means we can get the work done first, and
then enjoy the rest of the presentations. I will pass the torch to
George Paganelis, who will take over as MGSA Library Committee Chair for
the next two years. Thanks, George for volunteering to take over!
Warm regards to all,
Rhea
