waterstained).
A Greek translation of Thayer's bestselling, moralistic biography of
President Abraham Lincoln, originally published in 1863 at the height of
the Civil War. In addition to his work as a translator and minister, the
American-educated Constantine was a Congregationalist missionary in Athens and
Smyrna and served as US Vice-Consul to the Port of Athens.
