Glenda,
We don't have a large number of the "Hellenes" series in our collection,
but I do know that Cactus (Kaktos) has been publishing them for some
time and a visiting faculty member from Greece has recommended the
series to me. There are nearly 700 volumes already at quite affordable
prices. See their Web site:
http://www.kaktos.com/, where you can browse
their entire catalog.
Best,
George

Hello,
There is some interest on my campus (University of Washington) to
acquire a select few of the titles in the Cactus Editions "The Hellenes"
series...translations of the Greek classics into modern Greek.
Are any of you collecting this series? If so, any comments about
quality of translations or the physical books themselves?
Thanks very much. I really, really wish I could join you at the
Gennadius Library next month. And again, the Gennadius acquisitions
lists are invaluable to me, as a new Modern Greek selector.
