Aegean
Libraries in the Aegean
FRIDAY, 26 OCTOBER 2012 14:49
Aegean University took a few months ago the initiative to establish
lending libraries to the widest possible circulation of books among
members of the academic community. Operating conditions and lending is
different and simpler than the standard libraries. The rationale is
equally simple and summed up by a slogan, suggestion and
simultaneously reminder: "He came back with. I belong to everyone. "
The dean of the University of the Aegean, Paris Tsartas, urges support
the initiative through the following open letter:
"Just because we believe that the book is something very important ...
We would like to inform you about the effort that began in 2011 at the
Aegean University to create the University Libraries Literary
Foundation Units. The entire academic community (students, teaching
and administrative staff) will have the opportunity to borrow books,
mainly Greek and contemporary world literature, history and political
monographs and return them to mediate the classic lending process.
There is no record of people who borrow books nor loan period. Record
books will be found in libraries, on the inside cover of which is
stamp will indicate: "He returned with. I belong to everyone. " The
main objective of this action is to enhance both the presence of
literary books in our everyday life, the cultivation of filanagnosias
and a sense of responsibility to return the book without any
commitments.
The University of the Aegean is one polynisiotiko Foundation, which
operates in six islands of the Aegean (Mytilene, Chios, Samos, Rhodes,
Syros and Lemnos). In 27 years of operation, managed to create and
maintain a high quality, distinguished, internationalized and
competitive environment studies, earning his academic presence, an
important position among the Greek and European Universities. With 18
Departments and 28 Postgraduate Courses, managed to bring substantial
research and culture through the development of modern and innovative
interdisciplinary subjects which meet both the expectations of
students / of three and the demands of society, research and labor
market.
In this context, we would like to ask your help both in supplying
books and communicating the message, where you think there would be a
response. Choose books that no longer serve you and help us create the
Literary University Libraries. Unfortunately, there is no financial
ability to purchase the books for your own contribution is very
important and crucial.
We remain at your disposal and our affiliates (Mrs. E. Broomsticks
tel: 22510 36171, and others. Dede I. 210 64 9210 2) for further
clarification. "
