Hi, all,
I got an email from Robert Rendall which read thus:
My task force has submitted its report. It's basically making the same
recommendation as option #1 in the Princeton response on the CoHSL list:
stop using the "h" for all modern Greek (not just "monotonic
orthography")
and try to convert old records. CC:DA will be voting on this over the next
few days.
FYI.

Karen,
Many thanks for sharing Robert Rendall's message.
Thanks to all who signed the petition which now has 190 signatures from faculty,
researchers, and librarians, from all over the world!
As an update, I received a message (with a copy to Deb Brown Stewart ) from Barbara
Tillett, offering us an extension to the comment period: "as we are eager to be sure
we hear from all parties that would like to suggest their recommendations on how to
proceed with the goal of coming closer to modern Greek orthography."
I have responded suggesting a meeting of a cross-section of knowledgeable LC staff,
catalogers, bibliographers, systems librarians, and subject specialists during ALA annual
in D.C. I am awaiting her response.
Also to the CC:DA Task Force members, please make your recommendations public as soon as
you are allowed to. We are anxious to see them.
Regards,
Rhea
