ATHENS
Bibliotheque is a bookstore for dreamers and intellectuals
By Eleni Zoe
A city without a traditional bookshop is a city without a heart. That's one
of the reasons indie publishing house Bibliotheque opened bookshop Stegi
Bibliotheque.
Among the graffitied walls of Exarcheia, Bibliotheque stands as a beacon of
high culture offering translated works from the likes of Julio Cortázar,
Pablo Neruda and Matsuo Bashō. Greek writers, especially poets, include
George Le Nonce and Apostoli Artinou. There's also a curated selection of
books from other publishers that challenge the status quo in every way.
Bibliotheque attracts the literati of the city, especially with its author
events. Follow on Facebook to stay informed. And feel a different city
beat.
