I'm very excited about our upcoming semester at Applied Stats! 

We will have our first meeting of the semester on Wednesday, January 29th at 12 noon in CGIS K354. As per usual, lunch will be served. 

Our first speaker will be Patrick Lam, who will be presenting his paper entitled "Voter Persuasion in Compulsory Electorates: Evidence from a Field Experiment in Australia."  I've attached a copy of the paper to this email for those of you who want to prepare your devastatingly insightful questions and comments in advance.
