400 IM, Earns All-America Honorable Mention in Day Two of NCAA

Rathgeber placed
11th in the 400 IM.
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Senior
Geoff
Rathgeber finished
11th in the 400 IM at the NCAA Championships Friday evening at King
County Aquatic Center.
With his time of 3:47.65,
Rathgeber earned All-America
honorable mention status.
Earlier in the day,
Rathgeber placed 13th in the
400 IM preliminaries, touching the wall in 3:48.32. Rathgeber earned
All-America recognition in the 200 IM Thursday
with the sixth best mark (1:45.61).
In the 100 butterfly,
junior Bill
Jones finished 23rd in the
preliminaries with a mark of 47.35.
On
Saturday, Jones will compete in the 200 butterfly,
while Rathgeber will swim in his third event of the nationals, the 200
breaststroke. Junior Eric
Lynch, who
competed in the 500 freestyle Thursday, will swim in the 1650 freestyle
event Saturday evening.
