Cambridge, Mass. - Freshman Zac
Ranta (Hales Corners, Wis.) was selected ECAC Men's Diver of the
Week Feb. 13, the conference announced. Ranta
swept the diving events against Penn with victories in the one-meter
(301.73) and the three-meter (312.60) events. Harvard won the meet,
189-104.
Harvard is ranked No. 22 in the latest
CollegeSwimming.com poll and is 9-0 overall. The Crimson clinched its
sixth EISL regular-season championship in head coach Tim
Murphy's 10-year tenure with its victory over Penn, finishing with
an 8-0 record in conference action.
Ranta is the fourth Crimson to be honored by the ECAC this season, as Bill
Jones was named ECAC Swimmer of
the Week Jan. 31, and Lucas
Sanders was honored as ECAC Diver of the Week Jan. 10. Geoff
Rathgeber was selected ECAC Swimmer of the Week Dec. 5. and Feb. 6.
The Crimson competes at
the ECAC Championships in Pittsburgh, Pa., Feb.29 - March 2.
Harvard
will then host the EISL Championships March 6-8 at Blodgett Pool.
