About Finearts-list
|
|
|
You have been subscribed to finearts-list, an information source created
specifically to deal with Fine Arts Library project updates for
Fine Arts Library staff. The following message provides important
information about the purpose of this list and information on how to make
use of it.
***** PURPOSE OF THE LIST *****
The finearts-list is intended to enable the timely distribution of news and
announcements about Fine Arts Library projects to Fine Arts Library
staff. Information posted to the list will pertain to events and policy
having impact specifically on Fine Arts Library staff. Examples include
announcements about construction noise, project updates, etc.
The list is a news distribution service only; it is not a discussion list.
Postings to the list are generally made only by the list administrator or
her proxies. All messages submitted are reviewed for content; any posting
may be withheld at the discretion of the list administrator if deemed to
be outside the intended scope of the list.
Subscriptions to the list are limited strictly to FAL staff members;
new staff are automatically subscribed to the list once a new e-mail
account has been established for them at FAS computing services.
***** FINEARTS-LIST ADMINISTRATION *****
The finearts-list e-mail distribution service is administered by Beth
Brainard, HCL Communications and Public Information Officer
(editorial content) and HCL Information Technology Services (technical
support). Questions regarding scope and content of communications
intended for the list should be directed to Beth at
brainard@fas.harvard.edu.
***** HOW TO POST TO THE LIST *****
Notices intended for posting to the finearts-list should be sent to:
finearts-list@fas.harvard.edu
Messages submitted to the list will be forwarded to the list administrator
for review; when approved, will be posted back to the list for general
distribution.
***** OTHER MAILING LIST COMMANDS *****
The hcl-list uses a mail distribution program called "Majordomo" which is
supported by FAS Computing Services. Commands native to the Majordomo
program can be used to send messages to the list for posting (as described
above), as well as to retrieve additional information (such as the names
of
list subscribers, or list documentation-including this welcome message).
To retrieve a complete list of the commands available to list subscribers,
send a message to majordomo@fas.harvard.edu consisting of a single line of
