Nordic Walking is Back! *_
Nordic Walking Intervals begins at the MAC Thursday, May 6th! Classes
will be Mondays at 12:10 and Thursdays at 5:00pm.
Meet in the manager's hallway next to the front desk, dressed for the
weather. Class will be canceled in the event of rain.
_*The Harvard Recreational Sailing Program is now open for the season!*_
The sailing facility is located on a barge in the Charles River at 45
Memorial Drive which is near the lower Basin on Memorial Drive and
easily accessible by the subway. You may contact the facility directly
to ask any additional questions you may have about this wonderful
opportunity to enjoy the Charles River at (617) 495-3434. Facility Hours
will run from April 15, 2010- June 4, 2010. During this time the
facility will be open Tuesday- Friday from 1pm-7pm.
For the summer/fall season the facility will extend the hours operation
to Tuesday-Sunday from 1pm-7pm which will begin June 4, 2010 and
continue through the fall when the facility will close for the season on
October 15th, 2010.
Private Instruction is available with Bern Noack,
BCNoack at fas.harvard.edu for $50/hr.
Orientations are also held every Wednesdays at 5:30pm.
In order to purchase a sailing membership you must present a valid
Harvard swim test card.
The swimming test consists of 100 yards of any stroke except the
backstrokes and must show good forward progress (i.e., swimmers are not
allowed to stop, hang on the lane lines or touch the bottom) in order to
pass.You must be an officer, student or staff with a Harvard ID or be a
Harvard Affiliate with a Harvard Athletic Facility pass to take the

operation at the Blodgett or MAC pool until 15 minutes prior to closing
