Research Workshop in Applied Statistics
***************************************

This Wednesday, February 14, please join the Applied Statistics Workshop
at 12 noon for a presentation by Jens Hainmueller entitled "Synthetic 
Control Methods for Comparative Case Studies: Estimating the Effect of 
California's Tobacco Control Program."  The talk is based on joint work 
with Alberto Abadie and Alexis Diamond.  Their paper, along with 
supporting software, is available through the workshop website at

Lunch will be served at noon and the presentation will begin at 12:15 PM
in Room N354 of the Institute for Quantitative Social Science, located in
the CGIS Knafel Building at 1737 Cambridge St. (next to the Design
