In addition to the several (previously announced) activities planned for
this week -- talks tomorrow (4/21) by Alan McPherson on Sandino in Mexico
and by Guillermo Zermeño (in Spanish) on the concept of revolution in
19th-century Mexico, a screening of the short documentary film *New American
Soldier* (2009) on Thursday evening, and a presentation on Friday by Lowell
Gudmundson on the 2010 Costa Rican elections -- the Mexico and Central
America Program at DRCLAS would like to inform you of two events next week
that will close out our Spring 2010 programming.  Next Monday, April 26, two
Fulbright Scholars who have recently conducted research in Mexico will
present the conclusions drawn from their work on drug control, violence, and
democracy in Mexico, and next Wednesday, April 28, John Ross, an author and
long-time commentator on Mexican affairs, will present his new book, *El
Monstruo*, on Mexico City.  Please see below for details, and make plans to
