In preparation for the performance in the stadium later this spring, the Harvard Classics
Club presents a screening of Antigone (1961) by Greek director Giorgos Tzavellas,
presented by the Departments of Modern Greek and the Classics. The film will have dialogue
in Modern Greek and English subtitles throughout. Traditional Greek cheese pie, spinach
pie, and chocolate tourta will be provided at the reception after the film. The
film's run time is 82 minutes.

In this lecture Professor Beck explores the father-son relationship between Odysseus and
Telemachus as well as Laertes through similes, which feature powerful and moving
perspectives on the disruption of their relationships.
