Hi All,
I've talked to a couple of you and learned that many people do not yet have
the Geddes article. Widener's copy of the journal is officially missing, so I
photocopied it over at Brandeis' library. If anyone still needs this reading,
I'll leave a copy in my mailbox (okay, hangy folder thing) in the Govt Dept
Lounge in Littauer. Feel free to take it and make copies, but please do put it
back when done.

Because of Yom Kippur, I have decided to move the lecture I would have
given next Monday (October 6) to Wednesday (October 8) at 6pm---i.e.,
during the regularly scheduled section time. I plan to lecture on
distributions but this time to focus on R instead of the analytics (so
you get to see the mapping from the analytics to R).
There will be no class on Monday October 13 because of the University
Holiday. But there will be section that week. You will be given two
weeks to complete the third home work assignment. It will be due on
the 16th. The third homework will be largely based on this week's
lecture and on the accompanying lecture on R which Jacob Kline will
give in section and the R/distributions material I will talk about
next Wednesday.
I look forward to meeting with you individual this Wednesday 2-7 and
Wednesday the 15th 2-7.
Cheers,
JS.
