Helene,
There must be a typo in that line. Where you have:
chunrate<-c(NA, NA, NA,
unrate[4:length(unrate)]-unrate[1:(unrate)-3])
replace it with
chunrate<-c(NA, NA, NA,
unrate[4:length(unrate)]-unrate[1:length(unrate)-3])

Subject: Gov1000: question
Hello Jacob, I hope you had a happy hanukah.
I have a question regarding the solution to PS7. NOt an emergency though
so answer when you can.
I tried to create a variable for change in unemployment
using your solution:
chunrate<-c(NA, NA, NA,
unrate[4:length(unrate)]-unrate[1:(unrate)-3])
Here is what I get:
Warning messages:
1: Numerical expression has 570 elements: only the first used in:
1:(unrate)
2: longer object length
is not a multiple of shorter object length in:
unrate[4:length(unrate)] - unrate[1:(unrate) - 3]
What do I do wrong? Am I not using the right data set?
Thanks,
Helene
