Hi everyone,
Today is the deadline for the nominations for the fifth annual Dean's
Distinction, an FAS recognition program that honors the significant
achievements and contributions of individuals and teams (up to 8 members).
We encourage everyone who attends tennis clinics, takes private lessons or
is otherwise involved in the Harvard Tennis programs to take the time to
nominate Harvard Tennis Professional, Michael Mercier. These are just some
of the things that Michael does to develop tennis at Harvard:
* Runs Harvard Tennis Programs year round. Clinics: Beginner, Stroke
development, High Performance, Women & Men Doubles, Harvard Tennis Tourneys
and Round Robins, USTA Team Tennis - (the teams won districts/
sectionals/nationals )
* Runs private & group Lessons
* Wheelchair Tennis Camp, Paralympics sports club (Wounded Warrior),
Children's Hospital / Mass General, Mass/ inter-city Spaulding Rehab,
Mentoring & Diversity programs
* Special Outreach Tennis Programs: Harvard Police/Boston Police/ Cambridge
Inter-city and more
* High Performance Tennis Player Development for Juniors / Adults
* Men's Varsity Events, ITA Women's Varsity Regionals
* United States Professional Tennis Association Board of Directors, National
Wheelchair Tester, USPTR Association, USRSA professional stringer
* United States Tennis Association " Tennis on Campus" National Liaison
This nomination will not only give a well-deserved recognition for Michael,
but will also help to ensure further development of tennis at Harvard.
