all,
i tried to open a new xemacs session, and got the same error.
so i guess that the problem is universal then.

I get the same type of error that Nirmala notes; when
I try to xdvi:
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
Error: Can't open display: :##.0
Where ## is my vnc session number.
Are those of us using LaTeX/R and hoping to turn in work for other classes
this week in trouble? Anything we can do to be able to connect again?
Ryan

No, I cannot open a new Xemacs window either.
I think the common theme in all the error messages I get is
Cannot connect to X server: ##.0
where ## is our VNC session number.
I am not brave enough to kill my VNC
session to see if that solves the problem.....
