*The Particulars*
Harvard, looking to win its second conseuctive dual-meet title, hosts
Ivy League rivals Yale and Princeton in the annual HYP meet. The Crimson
and Tigers are both undefeated in conference action, while the Bulldogs
sit in third place with a 3-1 Ivy mark. Since these schools adopted the
three-way format in 1992-93, the HYP meet has usually had a direct
bearing on the Ivy League dual meet title. These three schools have
combined to win all but one Ivy dual meet championship since 1988-89.
Harvard grabbed the crown last year, finishing with a perfect 7-0 Ivy
League record.

*Senior Day*
The two-day HYP meet will serve as senior day for Drew Davis
Patrick Detzner
David Guernsey
Tom Hehir
Bill Jones
Dan Jones
Michael Lin
Eric Lynch
and Tim Parent

*Last Time Out*
The Crimson won 10 events, including the first six on the afternoon, to
cruise to a 169-119 victory over Brown. Robert Newell
(200 breaststroke), Bill Jones (200 freestyle), and Simone Melillo (100
breaststroke) each won an individual event and helped the Crimson to a
victory in the 200 medley relay. David Guernsey completed the foursome
that captured the 200 medley relay for Harvard. Zac Ranta
claimed both diving events, Tommy Gray
won the 500 freestyle, and Mason Brunnick
had the fastest time in the 1000 freestyle. Other Crimson winners
included Blake Lewkowitz
(200 buterfly) and Niall Janney
(100 backstroke).

*Scouting the Bulldogs
*Yale is coming off a sweep of Dartmouth and Penn back on Jan. 17. The
Bulldogs emerged with a 244-56 win over the Big Green and topped the
Quakers, 184.5-115.5. The 200 medley relay team of Alex Righi, Matt
Sweitzer, Goksu Bicer and Chris Pool won the event and set a new pool
record in the process, finishing in 1:31.47. Righi then went on to win
the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle, while Pool claimed the 100 and 200
butterfly events.

*Scouting the Tigers*
Princeton returned from a long break to hand Dartmouth a 182-111 defeat
in a home meet Jan. 25. Chris Quemana won the 100 breaststroke, Jon
Hartman claimed the 50 free, A.J. Kennedy touched the wall first in the
100 free and Easton Chen placed first in the 200 breaststroke. This
foursome also opened the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay.
Will Schaffer (100 and 200 butterfly) finished first in two events.

*Last Year Against Yale, Princeton*
On Feb. 1-2, 2008, in New Haven, Conn., Harvard won 11 events to earn a
sweep of the Bulldogs and Tigers, topping Yale, 227.5-125.5, and
handling Princeton, 213.5-139.5. Eric Lynch
led a 1-2-3 finish for the Crimson in the 1650 freestyle, and Sam
guided Harvard to the top three finishes in the 500 free. Geoff
