Political Outlook in Brazil in the wake of Elections and the Global
Financial Crisis

Professor David Fleischer, Institute of Political Science at the
Universidade de Brasília
Professor Fleischer joined the faculty of the Universidade de Brasília
in 1972, where he was Chair of the Department of Political Science and
International Relations (1985-1989) and member of the University Council
(1985-1993). He is the president of TCC-Brazil (Transparency,
Consciousness and Citizenship), an NGO founded in Brasília in 1996 which
is the national chapter of Transparency International. Fleischer has
published widely on Brazilian politics (Congress, elections, parties)
and North-South Relations. He is also active in political risk analysis
and has published the Brazil Focus -Weekly Report since 1996. Fleischer
holds a doctorate in Political Science from the University of Florida.
Prof. Fleischer is also a founding member of the DRCLAS Brazil Office
Advisory Group.
