With his time of 3:47.65, Rathgeber earned All-America honorable mention status. Earlier in the day, Rathgeber placed 13th in the 400 IM preliminaries, touching the wall in 3:48.32. Rathgeber earned All-America recognition in the 200 IM Thursday with the sixth best mark (1:45.61). In the 100 butterfly, junior Bill Jones <http://www.gocrimson.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=9000&ATCLID=649061> finished 23rd in the preliminaries with a mark of 47.35. On Saturday, Jones will compete in the 200 butterfly, while Rathgeber will swim in his third event of the nationals, the 200 breaststroke.
