We are back in the full swing of things here in athletics and we're very excited
about the spring semester group exercise and specialty class schedules. I highly recommend
that you sign-up for the Team Fitness Challenge (TFC). Working in teams is a great way to
stay motivated through the semester and can make your time at the gym more enjoyable.

* We have now returned to standard semester hours of operation in all facilities.

Programs:
SPECIALTY EXERCISE CLASSES
* We are offering a wide variety of progressive specialty classes that focus on
improving your technical proficiency week to week with certified experts in the exercise
field. These classes range from Wedding/Ballroom dance to Pre and Post Natal Fitness to
SCUBA Diving, and are formatted so that each week's instruction builds on prior
classes. On-time registration ends Wednesday 1/30, and classes are quickly filling up.

GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES
* The spring group Exercise Class Schedules are now posted. We offer a wide range of
classes such as Total Body Conditioning, Yoga and Zumba...catering to the diverse Harvard
Community.
* Check out the BRAND NEW Group Exercise Class on the MAC schedule this semester:
ShockWave(r)! - ShockWave(r) is cross training at its best! This total body circuit
challenge combines the Indo-Row Water Rowers for a HIGH-INTENSITY calorie burn with
dynamic, functional exercises using Body Bars, BOSUs, stability balls & more, to

TEAM FITNESS CHALLENGE
* Teams of 6-8 Harvard affiliates compete against other teams to accrue workout
minutes at Malkin & Hemenway.
* Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 TFC teams.
* Registration runs from 1/21/13- 2/6/13.

GENERAL SKATE HOURS AT BRIGHT HOCKEY RINK SAFETY ISSUES
* Please be aware that during General Skate hours at the Bright Skating Rink,
sticks and pucks are not allowed on the ice? These implements can place other skaters in
danger.

HARVARD ON THE MOVE
* Weekly walks and runs leave from the MAC steps. Starting January 29th, a Couch
to 5K walk/run on Tuesdays 12pm.
* As always you are encouraged to walk/run at whatever pace and distance is right
for you.
