JOIN HARVARD RECREATION ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 18TH FOR
NATIONAL EMPLOYEE HEALTH & FITNESS DAY
Come bring your co-workers and participate in these complimentary events:
*Open Group Exercise classes for all Harvard Community members with a valid HUID
*Dodge Ball at Hemenway Gymnasium Basketball Court 12:00-1:00pm
*Yoga in the Yard 12:00-1:00pm in front of Memorial Church
*Yoga for the Office Workshop at the MAC Mezzanine 1:15-2:10pm
All events are complimentary for Harvard Affiliates with a valid HUID. To participate in Dodge ball or Group Exercise classes please present your ID to the front desk and pick up a class pass. Passes will be available 30 minutes prior to the start time of class on a first come first serve basis.
To participate in Yoga for the Office please RSVP to Kerry at ptrainer(a)fas.harvard.edu.

GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES
The current schedule will run at the MAC & Hemenway until Sunday, May 15th. The LATE SPRING REDUCED SCHEDULE will run May 16th-June 24th at both facilities. The schedule will be posted on the website by the end of next week. http://recreation.gocrimson.com/fitness/schedules
FRESH POND GOLF PROGRAM 2011:
Eligibility and Distribution
*You must be a currently enrolled student (undergraduate or graduate student) with a valid ID to participate in this program. Non-students and summer school students are NOT eligible.
*One free round of golf and one free rental of clubs per student per month.
*Passes are distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
*Club rental vouchers and vouchers for rounds of play will be distributed until that month's allocation is gone.
*Vouchers will be distributed out of the Murr Center Conditioning Room on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am-1pm.
*Passes can be picked up beginning the first Wednesday of every month until they are all gone for that month. You must come in person with your Harvard ID in order to obtain vouchers.
*Vouchers distributed in the months of May and June will expire on June 30th. Vouchers distributed in the months of July and August will expire on September 30th.

HARVARD ON THE MOVE
Since January, hundreds of you have participated in Harvard On The Move,
a University-wide initiative that promotes physical and psychological wellness
for students, faculty, staff and alumni, as well as our neighbors in Cambridge
and Boston.
The program sponsors weekly walks and runs, in addition to workshops and
lectures highlighting cutting-edge research and practical information.
Thanks to our amazing faculty and distinguished visitors, we have already
hosted several interactive events focused on running form, injury prevention,
sport psychology, the cognitive and emotional benefits of exercise, and barefoot
running!

We are now taking requests for Adult Private, Buddy (2 adults) and semi-private (3-6 adults) lessons. Please submit a Swim Lessons Request form and we will contact you to schedule your lesson. STRENGTH TUTORIALS:
Take your skills to the next level with 3 new clinics coming to Hemenway Gymnasium!
All tutorials will be in the weight room at the MAC or Hemenway. Personal Trainer Mike Doyle will lead each clinic. Fee: $8.00 per clinic for facility members.

SAVE THE DATE: A ZUMBA RED PARTY IS COMING TO THE MAC ON FRIDAY, APRIL 8TH!
Ditch the workout and join the party on Friday, April 8th at ZUMBA Red Party! Help support the American Heart Association and their fight against heart disease in women. The proceeds raised in ticket sales will go to the American Heart Association. http://www.goredforwomen.org/
Join in the fun and learn dance moves set to a Latin rhythm and a few of our favorite artists including Michael Jackson, Shakira & MORE! As a special bonus 5 instructors will teach this class and showcase new material! This party that is suitable for all fitness levels! Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to shake it!

Yoga for Runners
Come stretch, strengthen and maximize your breathing in this fun 75-minute yoga workshop. With equal parts exercise, rest and breathing, runners and yoga practitioners of all levels will learn how to stretch their quads, hamstrings, calves, hips-all while strengthen the core and low back. Modifications to maintain healthy ankle and knee joints are offered. You will leave this workshop with some useful pre- and post- run stretches and a better understanding of your body and breath to support a lifetime of healthy running. Yoga for Runners is perfect for everyone, from avid joggers to novice runners and Boston marathon competitors.

Workshops are complimentary for facility members who have group exercise class access.
