* Murr Center is closed Saturday, November 6th for the home football game against
Columbia.
* Murr Center Tennis courts are closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday (11/5-11/7) for the
Women's Varsity Tennis Invitational.
*Murr Center Squash courts are closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday (11/12-11/14) for US Squash
Tournament.
* The MAC pool will be closed November 11th for Veteran's Day. Blodgett pool will be
open regular hours, 9am-2:15pm and 5pm-10:30pm.
* The MAC will be closed on November 11th. Hemenway will remain open with normal operating
hours 6:00am-11:00pm. Group Exercise classes will not be held.

Maintain Don't Gain:
Harvard Recreation & The Center for Wellness Present: Maintain, Don't Gain!
A Community Holiday Weight-Maintenance Initiative
November 17th-January 21st
THE GOAL: Maintain your pre-holiday weight between Thanksgiving & New Years.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Form a team of 4-6 participants & register your team online.
Individuals are welcome to register & we will form a team for you.
Registration is November 8th-17th. The first 75 participants to enroll will receive a
complimentary welcome bag! Register online or in person at the MAC or Hemenway.

Scuba Diving Lessons:
SCUBA LESSONS ARE BEING OFFERED AT THE MAC THIS NOVEMBER!
This course will meet 6 times over the course of 5 weeks. Classes will meet on Mondays
& Wednesday evenings between 11/8 & 12/8.
Class schedule:
Mondays: 11/8, 11/15, 11/22, 11/29 & 12/6
And Wednesday 12/8
All classes meet from 6:00pm-10:00 pm at the MAC100% attendance is required.

We are now taking requests for Adult Private, Buddy (2 adults) and semi-private (3-6
adults) lessons. Please submit a Swim Lessons Request form and we will contact you to

Basic Strength Training Orientations
Looking for an efficient workout? Want to learn how to use the machines safely and
properly? Register for a Strength Training Orientation at the MAC or Hemenway. Strength
Training orientations are 45-minute sessions, during which members are led through a row
of circuit
machines by a certified personal trainer. During the Basic STO, members will be provided
with a list of the circuit machines along with information on technique, moderation,
progression, and machine adjustments. Please note that these are not customized personal
training sessions. Members will not be shown how to use dumbbells or cable machines, and
will not be exercising during the STO.
