* Blodgett pool will be closed this weekend due to the ECAC Water Polo Championships. The
pool will be closed on Thursday, 9/16 in the evening as well as all day on Friday 9/17
,Saturday 9/18, and Sunday 9/19.
The pool will re-open Monday 9/20 at 9am.
* The Malkin Athletic Center has extended hours next month on the following dates due to
Varsity Volleyball
October 1st closing at 9:00pm, October 8th closing at 9:00pm, October 22nd closing at
9:00pm
FALL RECREATION EVENTS
Back 2 School Bootcamp: Need to jumpstart your Fall Semester exercise routine?
Back to School Bootcamp is perfect for anyone at any level of fitness experience, and its
free!
This special event will be broken into 3 sections all packed into 1 educational and fun
hour!
First the MAC trainers will coach you through a 40 minute circuit style routine guaranteed
to get you on the right track with your fitness routine this semester. Next, the trainer
will lead a Q & A session where participants will have the opportunity to ask their
burning fitness related questions. At the end the trainers will demonstrate recovery
techniques using the foam roller. All participants will receive a hand out outlining the
circuit.

Support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation Workout to help fight
breast cancer at our 4th Annual Pilates for Pink Charity Class!

Time: Check in is 6:30-6:50pm the workout is 7:00-7:55pm

A $10.00 donation is suggested per person. You will receive a raffle ticket for every
$10.00 you donate. Raffle prizes include recreation vouchers, 1-1 personal training or

Fall 2010 Specialty classes will run for 8 weeks beginning October 2nd. Registration will

Strength Clinics
NEW Strength Clinics have just been added to the Fall line-up at Hemenway Gymnasium.
Strength Training for Women, Kettlebell Clinic, The Benchpress & Progressive Power
Lifting will run for 6 weeks beginning October 4th. Classes are limited to 3-6
participants allowing each participant to receive individual attention which will allow
them to progress each week. *Facility Membership is required* Fee: $120.00 per person per
clinic.

Basic Strength Training Orientations
Looking for an efficient workout? Want to learn how to use the machines safely and
properly? Register for a Strength Training Orientation at the MAC or Hemenway. Strength
Training orientations are 45-minute sessions, during which members are led through a row
of circuit
machines by a certified personal trainer. During the Basic STO, members will be provided
with a list of the circuit machines along with information on technique, moderation,
progression, and machine adjustments. Please note that these are not customized personal
training sessions. Members will not be shown how to use dumbbells or cable machines, and
will not be exercising during the STO.

Employment: Lifeguards
The Department of Athletics is accepting applications for lifeguards to work 17 hours or
less per week. Must possess current certification in the following areas: American Red
Cross and/or equivalent certification in Lifeguard Training, Community First Aid Training,
CPR for the Professional Rescuer. If interested, please contact Gary Brown at
