Dear Dudley Arts Members,
There are still a few tickets remaining for tomorrow's 2pm performance
of The Blue Flower at the American Repertory Theater. Consulting
producer Stephen Schwartz (composer and lyricist of Wicked, Godspell and
Pippin, among many others) calls the work "one of the most creative and
original pieces of musical theater I have ever encountered". Moving from
Belle Epoque Paris to the WWI battlefields, this play about four lovers
and friends finding their way through a world in pieces weaves lush
video art, inventive music, playful text, and evocative movement into a
visceral theatrical experience. $15 student tickets (discounted from
$35) are available from the Dudley House Office. Feel free to contact me
(marcrum@fas) for more information.
I hope to see you there!

Three from the Gas Station (1930). Like Hollywood’s Depression-era film
musicals, this Weimar-era film is based in the economic misery of the time
but proposes an escapist solution. The three men of the title gather what
little money they have to open a gas station. Each quickly falls in love
with their favorite customer, a beautiful female motorist. The score
contains songs that became popular standards, and the cast boasts a number
of the stars of early sound cinema in Germany, notably Lillian Harvey and
Willy Fritsch. Free with student ID. Contact Charlie (marcrum@fas) for more

identify an individual artist’s hand. Free and open to all. We will meet in
