Dudley Arts March Events
*Dudley Arts Chamber Music Initiative*
*Call for Musicians!*
After an auspicious debut at the Lily Pad in Inman Square this past fall,
the Dudley Arts Chamber Music Initiative will continue throughout the
spring semester. Its ongoing mission is to connect GSAS musicians with
professionals throughout the Boston/Cambridge area for interesting
collaborations at unusual venues. If you’re interested in performing on the
spring concert and have a chamber group already formed, or if you are
looking for fellow musicians to form an ensemble, then write to Thomas
Wisniewski at twisniew(a)fas.harvard.edu. The spring concert will be held on
Saturday, April 28 at Dudley House. Rehearsals, individually arranged, will
run throughout March and April.
*Argentine Tango Lessons @ Dudley*
Intermediate progressive series
What better way to stave off the winter chill than in the warmth of the
tango embrace?
An intermediate social dance class, having begun in early February, will run
until mid-April. Welcome are those with prior experience in Argentine tango
and/or those who have taken tango lessons at Harvard past semesters.
Material is progressive, requires weekly attendance, and builds on dancers’
previous knowledge of close-embrace Buenos Aires style. Topics include
leaders’ and followers’ technique; paradas; sacadas; cross and parallel
systems; intro to milonga; turns; and floorcraft. Students will be trained
to dance socially and will be encouraged to explore the many practicas and
milongas of Cambridge and Boston. Brought to you by the Dudley Arts Fellows.

Beginner progressive series
An introduction to salsa, having begun in early February will run until

The third session of the Dudley arts class is focused on watercolors. The
10-week session will continue to meet on Saturdays, 2-4pm in the Dudley
Private Dining Room until April 28. The course is currently sold out.

Dudley Arts will visit the newly extended Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
The new wing of the museum, built by renowned architect Renzo Piano,
features a 300-seat performance hall with a skylight in the roof for a
distinct visual and acoustical experience. Cellist Wendy Warner and pianist
Irina Nuzova perform the second installment of the Complete Beethoven Cello
Sonatas, including Sonata No. 3 in A Major, Op. 69; Sonata No. 4 in C
Major, Op. 102, no.1; and Sonata No. 5 in D Major, Op. 102, no. 2. This

Join us for a celebration of Elizabeth Bishop at 100! The Woodberry Poetry
Room commemorates Elizabeth Bishop through an oral history conversation,
featuring Bishop’s friends and students Lloyd Schwartz, Frank Bidart, Mary
Jo Salter, Gail Mazur and Rosanna Warren, and a staged reading of Joelle
Biele’s “These Fine Mornings,” a 50-minute, one-act play that tells the
story of Elizabeth Bishop and *The New Yorker*.

As part of the Fabulous Fellows February Film Series, Dudley Arts presents
a screening of *Bright Star* (2009), a biopic based on the last three years
of the life of poet John Keats and his relationship with Fanny Brawne.
Starring Ben Whishaw as Keats and Abbie Cornish as Fannie and directed by
Jane Campion, the film depicts Fanny as both artist and muse. Join us for
