Dear Dudley Arts subscribers,
The Trinity Repertory Company is performing Pulitzer Prize-winning Bruce
Norris' play, CLYBOURNE PARK, in Providence on Sunday, Nov. 20th at 2pm.
Tickets are $52 apiece; round-trip commute rail is $16.50. We will leave
from Dudley House at 10:15am to catch the 11am train from South Station to
Providence. We will return to Boston on the 4:56pm train. (One could also
catch the following train at 7:05pm).
Due to the higher expense of this event, we will sponsor this trip only if
there is enough interest on your part. So if you are interested in attending
and buying a ticket, please email me directly (twisniew(a)fas.harvard.edu)
ASAP; if there's not enough interest, we won't order the tickets. See below
for more information on the play, which promises to be both provocative and
sharp.
Best wishes,
Thomas
*In the Dowling Theater *
Hailed as a “buzz-saw sharp new comedy" by *The Washington Post*, Norris’
play cleverly spins the Chicago setting of *A Raisin in the Sun *into an
ingenious new tale about race and real estate in America. This two-act
stunner led the "Top Ten of 2010" lists from *Entertainment Weekly*, the* New
Yorker*, the *New York Times*, and the*Washington Post*. Ben Brantley of
the *New York Times* named Clybourne Park "the year's slyest and bravest
political comedy"; John Lahr of the *New Yorker* called the show "superb,
elegantly written, and hilarious." The play took home the 2011 Pulitzer
Prize for Drama.
*Contains adult language.
Runtime: 2 hours, 15 minutes including one intermission.*
