*WORKSHOP*:
Brooklyn-based painter, video blogger and local art historian *Loren
Munk*will offer a workshop at Dudley on "*Strategies
for Reception*." Aspiring artists and creative communicators of all kinds
will learn ways to use the internet and the world around them to enhance
visibility. The workshop will present systematic and spontaneous ways to
promote creative work, curate an online presence, and to stay culturally
aware---and keep track of the art scene---one day at a time. Skills and
techniques discussed will include blogging, vlogging, social media, and old
fashioned leg-work. Drawing on his years of producing the NYC art vlog
the "*Kalm
Report*," which has over 8,000 subscribers worldwide, Munk will walk
participants through the nuances of editing and posting YouTube videos, and
how uses of linking and metatext can amplify response.
Participants should bring a laptop computer if possible.
The workshop will be held *Wednesday, March 12 at 7-8:30 in Dudley
House*(Private Dining Room) and is open to all Harvard affiliates and
their
guests.
*Bring $5 to the office on the third floor of Dudley House to register.
Students can also drop in by bringing $5 to the workshop on Wednesday
evening*.
