*Outing to the musical Parade*
Thursday, April 14th @ 8pm, New College Theatre
* *
The Tony Award-winning musical Parade comes to the New College Theatre. Set
in Atlanta just after the turn of the 20th century, the musical follows
factory superintendant Leo's harrowing journey as he is accused of murdering
his young employee, Mary Phagan, who was found dead in the factory. As the
trial unfolds, Leo is scrutinized by a society which never truly accepted
him. Parade provides fascinating insight into the desperation of human
nature, the fear and prejudice that afflict mankind, and the strong forces
that attempt to counteract these societal evils. Jason Robert Brown's
beautiful music along with a moving book by Alfred Uhry provide the backdrop
for an unconventional musical theatre experience that doesn't shy away from
the serious nature of the material at hand. $8 student tickets available
from the Harvard Box Office. Contact Charlie (marcrum@fas) for more
information.
