colors you see. Please bring soft, medium and hard vine charcoal sticks, a
kneadable eraser, and a pad of good quality white paper to the first
meeting. Additional materials will be discussed in class. Cost of the

* *Dudley House Art Workshop: "Line, Color, and Space: Experiencing Color
Through the Five Senses"
Thursday, November 21, 7:30 - 9:30 pm, Private Dining Room
*
*Instructor: Diane Szczepaniak*
In this workshop, we will consider different meanings of color and the way
it interacts with our senses. Through various technical and imaginative
exercises, students will explore how color symbolism and association are
built up and broken down. By the end of the class, everyone will have
created paintings—either figurative or abstract—that reflect personal and
formal or compositional uses of color. The class is intended to introduce
non-traditional and synesthetic ways of thinking about color, and to invite
participants to notice how they think with and *through* color not only in
painting but in any art form, and even in their daily lives.” Cost of the
workshop will be approximately $15 (materials included). To pre-register,
please e-mail dudleyhouse.arts(a)gmail.com with your name and school/program.
Registration will open later this month -- watch for an e-mail later this
month!
