Hope your October is going well! We invite you to join us next Thursday
evening for a concert outing to the New England Conservatory of Music,
featuring works by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, and other Russian composers.
Sign-ups also are open through next week for Figure Drawing & Painting,
the second Dudley House art class series, beginning on Nov 3.
Last of all, join us on the last Saturday of October for a festive fall
trip to the historical town of Salem, Massachusetts and a visit to the
Peabody Essex Museum.

*Figure Drawing & Painting (5-week art class series)
Saturdays, 2-4 pm, Nov 3 - Dec 8*

Registration begins on Oct 15 for the second Dudley Art class of the
semester, Figure Drawing & Painting. The class is a 5-week series that
will meet at 2-4 pm on Saturday afternoons: 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 12/1 and
12/8. The cost is $30, plus materials. Beginning with three sessions of
drawing from a model, the class will in the last two weeks begin
painting the figure using acrylics on canvas. Bring payment tothe Dudley
House office on the 3rd floor of Lehman Hall to register. Longwood-based
students may call the Dudley House office at _617-495-2255_ to register.
Enrollment is limited to 15 people on a first come, first served basis.

*Russian Music at the New England Conservatory of Music*
*Thursday, Oct 25, 8 pm*
*Jordan Hall at New England Conservatory, Boston*
Join us at the historic Jordan Hall at the New England Conservatory of
Music for a concert performed by the NEC Chamber Singers. The concert,
*Icons of Russian Sacred Music*, will feature selections from
Rachmaninoff's /All-Night Vigil, /as well as works by Tchaikovsky,
Chesnokov, and Golvanov. Admission is free. We will meet at the front
steps of Vanderbilt Hall at Harvard Medical School (107 Ave Louis
Pasteur, Boston, MA) at 7:20 pm and head over together. Cambridge-based
students may take the Harvard M2 shuttle to Vanderbilt Hall, which is
the last shuttle stop. Bring $2.50 for the subway fare. Brought to you

*DUDLEY HOUSE ARTS OUTING*
*Trip to the Peabody Essex Museum*
*Salem, Massachusetts*
*Saturday, Oct. 27th*
Join us for a festive fall trip to the historical town of Salem to see
the impressive collection at the Peabody Essex Museum. We will leave
from the Dudley House steps at 8:45am to take the 10am ferry from the
Long Wharf North in Boston directly to Salem. After a beautiful cruise
into Salem Harbor, we will explore the town and visit the museum.
Everyone is welcome return to Cambridge by train later that evening.
One-way ferry tickets cost $15, purchased individually at the wharf;
train fare is approximately $10, purchased at the station; museum
entrance is $11 for students. Open to Dudley House members and their
