Dear Dudley Arts Enthusiasts,
Join us this for the kick-off concert of the New England Conservatory’s
(NEC) “Music: Truth to Power” festival, exploring revolution in artistic
expression and the vital role of music in human struggle:
*NEC Philharmonia concert: Tan Dun and Brahms
Wednesday, Sept 25, 8 pm, Jordan Hall, New England Conservatory of Music
(meet at 7:10 pm on Dudley House front steps)
*
The NEC Philharmonia will perform Tan Dun's Concerto for Orchestra ("Marco
Polo") and Brahms' symphony No. 1. The music of Tan Dun, a celebrated
Chinese composer who composed the Oscar-winning score for "Crouching Tiger,
Hidden Dragon," fuses together Eastern and Western traditions and pushes
the boundaries of classical music. This will be the North American premiere
performance of his piece, Concerto for Orchestra.
No tickets required (free). Guests welcome.
RSVP to dudleyhouse.arts(a)gmail.com.
Best,
Dudley Arts Fellows
