Dear Dudley Arts Enthusiasts,
This is a quick reminder for an upcoming arts outing this week:
*Shakespeare on the Common: Two Gentlemen of Verona*.
Directed by Steven Maler. Performed by the Commonwealth Shakespeare
Company.
*Location/date*: Boston Common (
http://goo.gl/maps/EVf0M) on Friday, July
26, 8 pm. We'll meet there at *6 pm* to grab a good viewing spot (it will
get crowded!), and have a picnic dinner there before the play.
*Cost*: Show is free! Bring a picnic dinner.
Show description from the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company:
*"Two Gents" tells the tale of two friends who leave their hometown of
Verona to find their happy fortunes in Milan. Instead, they find
temptation, trickery, and trouble as they vie for favor with the
high-society Duke... and his debutante daughter. All are drawn into a web
of disguise and secrecy where the last thing anyone wants is for the truth
to surface -- least of all the dog.*
*Inspired by Rat Pack-era Vegas -- the glamor, the hedonism, and the
morning after agonies -- the production brings new meaning to the line
"what happens in Milan, stays in Milan..."*
*If you are interested in joining, please reply to **
dudleyhouse.arts(a)gmail.com* <dudleyhouse.arts(a)gmail.com>* so we can get an
idea of how many people will be coming. Thanks!*
Best,
The Dudley Arts Fellows
P.S. If you cannot make it to this showing, note this play will be running
most evenings from now until July 28.
