Saturday, November 6th, Trip to see Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance**
**New Haven, Connecticut, Leave Dudley at 9 am*
Have you heard of *Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf or Zoo Story or A Delicate
Balance?* All of these are plays by American playwright Edward Albee, whose
"daring mix of theatricalism and biting dialogue helped to reinvent post-war
American theatre in the early 1960s" according to Putlizer-Prize winner
playwright Paula Vogel.
Dudley House is excited to sponsor a day trip to New Haven, Connecticut on
Saturday, November 6th to see the Yale Repertory Theatre's current
production of Albee's *A Delicate Balance.* This play garnered Albee his
first of three Pulitzer Prizes in 1966, and the cast includes Tony Award
nominee Kathleen Chalfant and Tony award winner Edward Herrmann as Agnes and
Tobias (see synopsis
here<http://www.yalerep.org/on_stage/2010-11/balance.html>)
. There will be a talk-back with the cast after the show. We will be leaving
from at Dudley House at at 9 am sharp to have time to visit historic
downtown New Haven and the Yale University Art Museum before the show, which
is at 2 pm.
Tickets are $11. Dudley House is generously subsidizing a Zipcar for us, but
we will have to cover gas/parking costs (around $9/person). Please email
Cynthia Browne at cbrowne82 (at)
gmail.com for more information (or for
reviews/biographical information on Albee) Hope to see you there!
