Dudley Public Service Fellows and Mount Auburn Hospital are teaming up
to bring a blood drive right in Dudley House. Did you know that each
year, more than 4 million Americans need blood transfusions. Donating
blood will help ensure that others can live healthy, productive lives.
The blood drive will be on Thursday, March 9th in the Graduate Student
Lounge (2nd fl) of Dudley House (Lehman Hall). It will take place
between 10AM and 3PM: you are asked to sign up for a 15 minute time
slot anytime during this period. **PLEASE SIGN UP AT THE 3rd FL of
DUDLEY HOUSE (Chad's office) ** You will receive an e-mail
confirmation of your scheduled time, as well as a reminder a few days
before the scheduled blood drive.
Snacks, candy, and a t-shirt will be provided by MAH for all
volunteers. Thanks again, for helping make a difference and saving a
life!

HELPING THE WORLD AFTERSCHOOL CLUB
Here's is a great volunteering opportunity for someone who would want
to work with kids on a weekly basis. The club is looking for at least
one or two more graduate students who can attend the club as well as
help plan weekly activities.
FOCUS: Students will develop an understanding that there is a bigger
world out there with people in need. We will study how there are
social injustices in the world (e.g. poverty, racism, etc.) and
discuss what we can DO about them. Students will be empowered to be
thankful for the resources and the things they have in their lives –
and then use what they have and know to make a positive difference in
the world. Students will make posters to raise awareness, write
letters, and take action steps to help those in need.
The club's focus last semester was Hunger/Shelter. Along with
participating in a Thanksgiving Basket Food Drive, we had a "hunger
banquet," acted out different skits related to hunger, and discussed
shelters, using pictures, stories, and excursions outside to help.
AGE GROUP: 3rd / 4th graders
# in GROUP: 8 - 10 students
TIME: weekly, Wed. or Tuesday 3:00 – 4:00pm
