*Call for Volunteers: Teaching Through Music *
The Harvard Mobile Music Lab is looking for musicians and music-lovers to
help us expand the reach of our program. We work with teachers to provide
core subject instruction through music in local public schools. Thanks to a
grant from Harvard, we've established a collection of basic instruments
that we use to facilitate experiential learning and to render music-making
accessible to kids with no other musical outlets.
This academic year, for an hour once every few weeks, we've worked with
pre-k, third, and fourth grade classes at the Eliot School in the North
End. We just renewed our grant for the project and we're hoping to expand
our work to more schools by recruiting more collaborators from the graduate
student community.
If you're interested in joining the team or if you just want to learn more
about what we do, you can contact Louis Epstein at epstein [at]
fas.harvard.edu.
Thanks - hope to hear from you soon!
