*Holiday Toy Drive*
The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is teaming up with students at
Dudley House to collect toys and other gifts on behalf of ABCD — Action for
Boston Community Development (www.bostonabcd.org). We invite the GSAS
community — students and staff on both campuses — to join the effort!
Donate unwrapped gifts for kids up to the age of 16, or gift cards to
retail stores like Target or Best Buy. Drop your toys/gifts in three
convenient locations: the Dudley House office (third floor), the GSAS
offices (Holyoke Center 350), or the DMS offices at Longwood (TMEC 435).
Toys must be dropped off by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4. Suggested cap
on individual gifts is $20. Questions? Please contact

Around town anytime between Tuesday, November 26 and Monday, December 2 and
looking to share some Thanksgiving cheer? We and our guests would love to
have your help at the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter! No previous
experience or training required--just a willingness to lend a helping hand.
Shifts are as short as 2 hours--shift descriptions and map of our location

About Us: The Harvard Square Homeless Shelter is the only student-run
homeless shelter in the nation, with a volunteer force of 150+. We are
always in need of extra hands over school holidays. We hope you will join

interested in learning about opportunities to engage in policy or field
work abroad to improve the lives of children? Panelists will share their
experiences as well as provide tips for students interested in pursuing a
career that involves working on children’s issues abroad. Co-sponsored by

*COOP Public Service Grants Program - Info Session Tomorrow!*
Each year, the COOP generously funds students to conduct public service
projects in the greater Boston/Cambridge community. Do you have an idea for
a public service project? If so, please consider applying. Previous
recipients of COOP grants have served our community in many ways, from
performing science outreach in schools to providing seminars during Black
History month. Application information is posted on the Dudley Public
Service website (link to left). Applications will be due Fri. Dec. 6, and
an information session will be held on *Wed. Nov. 6 from 6-7 pm* in the

*Harvest Food Pantry Visit*
Sat. Nov. 16, 8 am - 1 pm Meet on the steps of Dudley House
Dudley Public Service needs help filling a shift at the Harvest food
pantry, where we'll help distribute food and clothing. This is a great
opportunity to see how our community is working to combat poverty. The
pantry is based out of Cambridgeport Baptist Church in Central Square, and
we’ll meet on the steps of Dudley House to head over together. If you're

*Tutoring Opportunities*
Adult ESL, GED and literacy tutors needed at the Harvard Bridge Program:
· Teaching assistants in ESL/literacy class: 2:30 to 4:30pm or 4:30
to 6:30pm, Monday and/or Wednesday
· Individual ESL or computer skills tutoring afternoons or mornings
The Bridge Program is a workplace education program for the service-workers
at Harvard (custodians, dining services, parking, etc.) We are located in
