*SECOND HARVARD-WIDE CONVENING OF STUDENT LEADERS ON SEXUAL ASSAULT
PREVENTION *
Sponsored by the Provost’s Office, the goal of this gathering is to bring
together students engaged in the issue of sexual assault from across all
Harvard Graduate and Professional Schools to increase knowledge, create
synergies, and share best practices across the schools. The student
organizing team is currently soliciting applications, and all interested
graduate students and student groups are invited to apply
<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__goo.gl_forms_ZTBFdxF4Z…>
(please see below for details).
The first Convening took place in April 2015 with 46 student leaders from
across Harvard’s Graduate and Professional Schools. Events included
lectures and panels, small group problem solving sessions, and group-wide
strategic planning. Participants reported that this event helped to
establish a community of common concern for the problem of sexual assault,
provided a forum to learn from each other personally and professionally,
and facilitated collaborative relationships among faculty, staff, and
students across Harvard Graduate and Professional Schools. Participants
also overwhelmingly felt that it was crucial for Harvard student leaders
working on sexual assault prevention to continue convening in the future,
in order to continue to increase knowledge and share best practices across
the schools, create synergies across our different efforts, provide a space
for student leaders in this area to network, and to promote a
university-wide shared sense of accountability, support, and energy around
this work. This year’s participants will actively engage in a variety of
collaborative idea sharing, brainstorming, and problem solving activities,
leveraging the expertise of faculty and staff from around the university.
*How to Apply:* students of all genders are welcome. We especially
encourage student leaders who have already been engaged in this issue. The
application consists of a brief form to indicate your interest.
Applications are being accepted now until the application deadline on *Friday,
October 28th at 5:00PM*. Please click here to apply.
