Hey public service enthusiasts!
Recent sunny weather got you feeling like you gotta be outside?
....then join us at the *Walk for **Hunger* next Sunday, May 6th*!*
*TL,DR: *
*1. Walk with us on Sunday, May 6th for as little or as long as you'd like.*
*2. Join us later that day for a Dudley-sponsored afterparty with
summer-snacks & beer/beverages!*
In good timing with the incoming spring weather, Dudley House will proudly
participate in the *Walk for Hunger charity event on Sunday, May 6th. *Every
May, over 40,000 people walk all or part of a 20-mile course through
Greater Boston, earning the pledges they’ve collected to support Project
Bread’s fresh approach to ending hunger in our state. Together, we raise
awareness of the reality of hunger in our state, make a powerful statement
about our shared commitment to help people in need, and, importantly, raise
funds that make it possible to develop, sustain, and facilitate much-needed
programs that provide hope. It is the Walk for Hunger's 50th year, and a
great year for us to take part--so join us as a walker, sponsor, or both in
the largest public fundraising walk in the commonwealth!
*~ Thanks to Jess @ Food Literacy for letting us reproduce this email! ~*
Here's the deets, and take a breath, 'cause there's a bunch of them...
- Team Dudley will tackle the 20-mile course in *two waves--so NO, you
do not have to walk all 20 miles if you don't feel like it! *The morning
wave will meet at *8:30am at Dudley House* and head over to the start
point at Boston Common, and start the route through the beautiful Public
Gardens and downtown area. The afternoon wave will meet at *12:30pm at
Dudley House* and start the walk along the Cambridge side of the Charles
River, by Weeks Bridge. Shuttles will also be available throughout the
course to take you where you need to get--and if you want to leave at mile
5, mile 7, mile 12, you can do all of that and still join us for the after
party!
- Speaking of afterparty... After 4pm, wherever you are walking or
otherwise, join us for *a Dudley-sponsored afterparty *with beers,
non-alcoholic beverages, and warm-weather snacks! Details of the afterparty
will be announced to the team shortly.
