Please note especially our Springtime Volunteer Saturday at On the Rise coming up on April
2, and the Boston MS Walk on April 10! If you're thinking of joining Team Dudley for
the MS Walk, it's never too early to start fundraising and inviting friends to join
our team!

*******On the Rise Volunteer Day
Saturday, April 2, 10 AM 2 PM
To walk together to On the Rise, please meet on the Dudley steps at 9:45 AM
Energize your return from spring break by joining fellow Dudley volunteers for a Service
Saturday at On the Rise, a local center for women who are homeless or in crisis. We will
help out with some of the tasks that make the amazing work that On the Rise does possible,
including yard work, organizing donations, painting, and preparing mailings. We will go on
an informational tour of the house and refreshments will be served. All are welcome to
volunteer (male and female volunteers welcomed)! Bring a friend! Please contact Maria at
dudleypublicservice(a)yahoo.com to sign up or for more information. On the Rise is located a
very short walk from Dudley House at 341 Broadway St.
********Boston MS Walk
Sunday, April 10
Meet on the Dudley House steps at 11 AM for bagels and juice and to receive your free Team
Dudley T-Shirt!
Join Team Dudley as we walk to support research, education, and support for people with MS
and their families. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society devotes 78% of its revenue to
MS research, and to helping fund local initiatives like peer support groups, education and
programs that connect people with MS to health care experts. Walkers may choose to walk a
3 or 6-mile scenic route along the Charles River. As of today (3/22), the starting
location of the walk has not yet been 100% confirmed (though were told it will probably
be Boston Common like last year), so please email dudleypublicservice(a)yahoo.com for more
details! You may register online and set up your own personal fundraising website at

The Food Project Serve and Grow Volunteer Day
Saturday, May 14
9:30-12:30PM, Meet on the Dudley Steps at 8:45 AM
Dudley volunteers will help work the land at The Food Projects Roxbury location and learn
about urban agriculture, bioremediation, and food access issues. The Food Project brings
people together on the land to do work that addresses the most basic human need - the need
for food. Youth and adults plant, nurture and harvest hundreds of thousands of pounds of
organically-grown vegetables. Over 50% of the harvest is donated to shelters, and the rest
is sold at farmers markets and through special community agriculture programs. The Food
Project is a place where people from all backgrounds join together to work for more
livable communities.
