Meet at the Dudley House steps and walk to the nearby church at zero Garden
Street to help serve meals to the hungry. This is a great weekly event just
steps away from the Harvard Campus.

MIT Kresge Auditorium
Association for India's Development (AID) Boston is a volunteer organization
working on sustainable development projects in India, issues of women's
rights, and health. They are organizing a concert this Saturday by Pandit
Hariprasad Chaurasia, world-renowned bamboo flutist, and one of the leading
exponents of North Indian classical music. Tickets for the concert may be
purchased online, and student tickets are $20. The concert website is

A.3. *Eid** **Sweets Celebration and Pakistan Flood Relief* Saturday, Sep
18, 7:30 pm
Common Room @ Dudley House 2nd floor
Join Dudley House and the Harvard Islamic Society to mark the occasion of
Eid al-Fiṭr, the festive days that mark the conclusion of the holy month of
Ramadan. Celebrate with sweets from all over the world, catch up with old
friends, and meet new friends! We’ll be enjoying coffee, tea, and a
dizzying array of sweets and deserts from across the Islamic World while
listening to relevant musical selections and reveling in the festive spirit
of the season. There will also be opportunities to find out how you can
donate to, and help with, relief efforts in flood-ravaged Pakistan. Contact
Daniel for more information (dmajchr(a)fas.harvard.edu).
A.4. *Reverse Science Fair* Saturday, Oct 9, 10am-12pm
Northeastern University [360 Huntington Ave], Curry Student Center
Ballroom (2nd floor)
The Science Club for Girls is looking for presenters for their Show Me the
Science Fair. This free reverse science fair event allows adults to present
to girls from K2-6th grade and their families. The girls get hands on
experience with science through fun and engaging activities, ranging from
the physics of paper airplanes to how bugs can help us create
pharmaceuticals. We need several teams to present at our Dudley House booth.
You and your teammates will be responsible for creating and displaying a
10-minute hands-on activity. This activity will be repeated several times
during the day so make sure you bring enough supplies!
B.1. *Franklin Teen Mentoring Program (New times available)*
Contact dudleypublicservice(a)gmail.com to participate or find out more
The Franklin Teen Mentoring program works with Dorchester teenagers in
grades 8-10 to build positive mentoring relationships that empower youths to
succeed in school and other endeavors, while engaging with their community.
Franklin Teen provides a free, firmly established, and constructive after
school program in a community where there is a general lack and
fragmentation of social services, especially for the young. Franklin Teen
meets preferably on Friday from 4 to 7pm including travel time (which we
provide for you). But you can choose other days according to your own
schedule if Friday doesn't work for you. No experience is necessary for
Franklin Teen; we are just looking for dedicated people who are excited
about mentoring teens!
